Holy Week

Holy Week

Early Morning Communion 7am

As part of Holy Week and remembering the Feast of Unleavened bread there is an opportunity to gather 7-7.30am Mon-Thurs for a short communion service.

Maundy Thursday 7.30pm

Held on the Thursday of Holy Week this service commemorates the Last Supper, where Jesus instituted Holy Communion and washed his disciples’ feet. It’s an intimate evening service centred around communion. Foot washing will also be available as a reminder of Jesus’ invitation to share in his servant leadership. Having our feet washed isn’t the easiest way to express love and service for one another but who said following Jesus was going to be easy?

Walking the Stations of the Cross Good Friday 1.30-3-30pm

Part of our Good Friday meditation will include a walk of our local streets. The plan is to meet in the lay-by at 1.30pm and walk approx 3 kms (almost 2 miles) carrying the cross and retelling the Good Friday story through nine selected Bible readings. The aim is to be back at St Thomas’ before 3pm to finish with a short mediation at the cross. If you would like to read one of the readings please get in touch with Jono.
